25 Feminine Memes for Women and Girls

If you read these lyrics and thought they were an insufficient and reductive summation of what it means to be a woman, you're correct! It's probably not the best idea to get your ideas of what it means to be a woman from musicals like Bye Bye Birdie, or any other teen 60s musical, for that matter! Annette Funicello is a great person, but the character of Dee Dee in Beach Party is far from being a feminist icon. 

Our ideas about womanhood aren't innate parts of us. They come from the culture around us! That culture includes memes, some of which distill down to "Boys Rule and Girls Drool." While you might not identify with all of these girly memes, they're a lot better than most boy memes.
